Triple Shot
Engineers and bass players know that bass guitar distortion is a tricky proposition. The Ashdown Triple Shot nails it. It's an effect that can easily spiral out of control — and here's where the Triple Shot comes in. This multiband blendable overdrive pedal packs gallons of high-octane gain, but it also offers iron-fisted control and versatility. Basically, the Triple Shot is three distortion pedals in one. The signal from the instrument is split into three frequency bands (Dark, Medium, and Light); then fed into three distortion generators. Each band has its own level (Roast) control before being recombined to create a complete signal. It's therefore possible to retain and enhance the low frequencies of your bass sound in the context of a thick and chunky overdriven tone, enriched with high-gain treble. Flexibility is key: take the lows and highs and mix them to taste to harvest a vast universe of unique and tasty bass tones.

The Roast controls
With all of the Roast controls set fully counter-clockwise, Ashdown Triple Shot is a simple EQ — but using each of the Roast controls in conjunction with its corresponding Dark, Medium, or Light control, lets you vary the drive from a light tickle in the mids to full-on, frothy overdrive.
Ultimate drive control
With all the controls at 12 noon, you get a really sweet driven bass sound that cuts above the mix in a live scenario, while retaining the bottom end of your original bass signal. The pedal’s rotary controls are extremely sensitive and a slight adjustment can effect a major characteristic change in sound. As a result, you have the ultimate control over your drive.
