Jazz by name and jazz by nature, Strandberg's Sälen Jazz NX is another fantastic entry into the world of semi-hollow instruments for the Swedish instrument manufacturer. At its core sits a semi-hollow mahogany body capped with maple. These tonewoods produce a standout sound compared to other Strandberg models, with a fullness and clarity that are ideal for jazz and any other setting that calls for clean, articulate playing. The Sälen Jazz NX’s body is accented by two character-laden Suhr Thornbucker pickups along with Strandberg’s trademark headless design and EndurNeck profile, adding considerable durability and comfort. This axe’s upper register is easily reached thanks to its bolt-on construction and a low-reaching single-cut, with a rosewood multi-scale fingerboard ensuring fast playing across all 24 stainless steel frets. Many of today’s most innovative guitarists employ Strandberg guitars for all of their needs — pick up yours today and experience firsthand what this musical machine can do!

Semi-hollow body tailor-made for jazz and fusion players

As an instrument manufacturer known for their ingenuity and groundbreaking designs, it was inevitable that Strandberg would take their headless workhorses into the semi-hollow realm. The Sälen Jazz NX is perfectly catered to jazz and fusion players with enough versatility to handle genres and playing styles of all kinds. Its mahogany body sports a sprightly maple top, imbuing the Sälen Jazz NX with the warmth and clarity necessary for intricate single-note lines and ringing complex chord shapes.

Incredible tonal array courtesy of Suhr Thornbuckers

To handle the demands of today’s discerning players and master technicians, Strandberg equipped the Sälen Jazz NX with potent Suhr Thornbucker pickups. Modeled after a '50s-era PAF-style humbucker, albeit with a modern-sized dose of overwound oomph, these Alnico-loaded pickups give you all the warmth, clarity, and flavor of a vintage set, while also ensuring that you have enough output on tap to give the front end of your amplifier a good spanking. Thornbuckers are built using a carefully selected combination of magnets, wire, covers, and windings, infusing every note you play with all the subtleties, nuances, and expressive touch sensitivity you'd get from a true vintage pickup. Moreover, the Sälen Jazz NX's 5-way blade opens up an endless sonic universe for you to explore, offering several pickup combinations to choose from when honing that perfect sound.

Balanced headless design

The Sälen Jazz NX’s headless design removes mass from the headstock for lower weight and improved balance, so you can play marathon sets in total comfort. On the other end, Strandberg’s custom bridge hardware makes an important contribution to the tone of the instrument. Made of lightweight aircraft-grade aluminum, the EGS 7 bridge’s tight component coupling ensures that all the strings’ vibrations are optimally transferred to the tonewoods.

EndurNeck profile and bolt-on design for comfort and playability

At first glance, Strandberg’s acclaimed EndurNeck profile is sure to draw a few questions with its unique shape. Here, guitarists will all tell you the same thing: the EndurNeck feels even better than it looks. The carbon fiber-reinforced neck sports a rear-shafted trapezoid shape, possessing incredible comfort and noticeable stability. Almost magically, you will feel your grip significantly relax when playing an EndurNeck, leading to longer playing times and fewer injuries. The Sälen Jazz NX’s bolt-on construction, paired with a deep single-cut design, offers easy access to the upper register for increased playability and a more focused punch — a welcome feature uncommon for many other bolt-on guitars.

Multi-scale rosewood fingerboard

The fingerboard of a Strandberg is instantly recognizable for its multi-scale configuration that assigns each string a unique scale length. This allows low strings to intonate better at high tension and makes bending high strings a breeze. The Sälen Jazz NX’s EndurNeck is capped by a 20-inch-radius rosewood fingerboard with a 25–25.5-inch scale length. Not to mention, its 24 jumbo frets are made from stainless steel, a player-favorite fret material for its incredible resistance to wear over time.
