The Shure QLXD2/SM87 is a digital handheld wireless microphone transmitter compatible with QLX-D and ULX-D receivers. It comes equipped with the SM87A supercardioid condenser capsule designed to withstand extreme sound pressure levels, while still delivering a remarkably smooth frequency response for vocal performers and presenters. The capsule features a supercardioid polar pattern that rejects off-axis background noise, helping to reduce feedback.

The QLXD2/SM87 operates on a 42 MHz VHF tuning range with 1680 selectable frequencies available. It provides up to 9 hours of operation on two AA batteries, with a transmission range up to 330' and a selectable 1/10mW RF power output.
