Description

Designed for high-fidelity audio recording and playback, the marian DIGITAL AUDIO ELECTRONICS Clara A/D+ XLR is a professional-grade PCIe sound card that delivers pristine sound quality with 32 audio channels in a compact, three-slot PCIe width. It features eight balanced analog XLR I/O (16 channels) and four digital AES/EBU XLR I/O (16 channels), making it an ideal solution for studios and installations requiring high-channel density and uncompromising audio performance.

Equipped with high-end 24-bit/192 kHz converters, an ultraprecise clock, and a powerful BEAST DSP mixer, for latency-free mixing and EQ processing, the Clara A/D+ XLR ensures top-tier sound quality and reliability. Its robust construction makes it a durable and future-proof investment for professional environments. The card comes with a 16-channel analog I/O breakout cable and a 16-channel AES/EBU breakout cable, both equipped with XLR connectors. A breakout cable with two 5-pin DIN MIDI I/O is also included.

Clara A/D+ XLR "+" Edition: Enhanced Connectivity
The "+" version adds Wordclock / Superclock I/O (BNC connectors) and an additional two MIDI I/O via a dedicated expansion card. This add-on connects to the sound card via a ribbon cable, allowing flexible placement inside the case or in a separate PCIe slot.

  • AES/EBU digital connections are routed via a D-Sub connector, eliminating unnecessary signal conversions for maximum fidelity.

  • With 115 dB (A)SNR and a THD+N of less than 0.001% at -1 dBfs, the Clara A/D+ delivers premium audio quality.
  • A hefty level of +15 dBu provides enough headroom at the inputs and sufficient signal at the outputs for any connected device.
  • AD/DA is 24-bit and 192 kHz throughout, with no restrictions on the number of channels.
Advanced DSP Mixing and Realtime Routing
The BEAST DSP Mixer offers latency-free volume control and routing of all input signals, along with advanced mixing and playback capabilities:
  • Mix up to 64 signals across 8 buses.
  • Route playback signals from any DAW.
  • Record mix sums back into an application.
  • 4-band parametric EQ per channel for precise tonal shaping.
Superior Clocking and Synchronization
  • With less than 1 ns jitter, the Clara A/D+’s internal clock provides superior synchronization, often outperforming external studio clocks. This ensures ultralow jitter performance, making external clocking unnecessary in many setups.
Switchable Samplerate Converter (SRC)
  • For seamless digital integration, software-switchable Sample Rate Converters (SRCs) allow any digital input signal to be used, regardless of sample rate or clock settings, ensuring effortless compatibility with any connected digital device.
Scalable Multi-Card Synchronization
  • Multiple Clara sound cards installed in a single system can be synchronized via TDM SyncBus, appearing as a single unified ASIO device. 
  • This enables direct inter-card audio signal exchange within the BEAST Mixer, supporting up to 32 interconnected audio streams.
Reliable Multi-Client Driver Suite
