The Hohner Special 20 harmonica offers players durable construction, a smooth feel, and a resonant tone, making it a beloved instrument among professional harpists and beginners alike. Though an excellent choice for playing a range of musical genres, including country, blues, bluegrass, pop, and rock, due to its warm, mellow sound, don’t let its ubiquity fool you. The Hohner Special 20 is a trailblazer in harmonica construction. It is the first diatonic harp to feature recessed reed plates and a projecting mouthpiece — a design that has now become the standard for comfortable playability. With unique cover plates that aid in accentuating the harp’s natural tone and a durable, moisture-resistant plastic comb to boot, it’s no wonder why, set after set, harpists return to the Hohner Special 20.
