The black DPA 4661 CORE+ is a miniature, low-sensitivity, moisture-resistant lavalier microphone with heavy-duty construction designed for use with professional wireless systems for broadcast, performance, and theatrical applications. The electret-condenser capsule delivers crisp, clear, and intelligible speech, while the rugged yet unobtrusive design is well suited to the demands of professional live stage work and presentations.

The 4661 is built with stainless-steel housing, a thicker 2.2mm cable, and reinforced strain relief enabling the mic to withstand tough conditions in a variety of difficult working environments. The CORE+ technology in the mic delivers a wide dynamic range and almost completely neutralizes distortion at SPLs up to 134 dB RMS, helping to provide clean, crisp, and natural sonic performance, even on loud stages. Included are two interchangeable capsule protection grids that alter the sonic character of the mic for better results in different placement positions.

Designed for use on louder sources, the 4661 is wired for low sensitivity, allowing it to handle peak SPLs of up to 137 dB with less than 1% distortion, making it well suited for loud speakers, vocalists, and presenters. The mic can also be used very effectively to capture instruments—making it a flexible tool for houses of worship and live event productions. The lavalier is powered by 5 to 10V plug-in power from a wireless microphone transmitter.

Compatible Transmitters

Works with Lectrosonics transmitters equipped with a 3-pin LEMO connector, including the SSM and the DBu. Also supports the Sennheiser SK Series and Wisycom MTP.
The modular design allows you to adapt the 4061's MicroLock connector to a wide variety of transmitters simply by purchasing the compatible adapter—saving you the expense of buying another microphone.

Built to withstand the rigors of long-term everyday use, DPA's MicroLock system features an easy-to-use, secure, and wear-resistant locking connector specially engineered to minimize accidental disconnection and ensure reliable performance. The compact design is well suited to situations where space is limited and a visually discreet solution is preferred.
MicroLock is fully backwards compatible with the MicroDot connection; MicroLock parts can be assembled with MicroDot parts and function as if they were of the MicroDot type. Please note that the locking function is only available if both the male and female parts are MicroLock.

Made for situations where you require maximum security and where the visual size of the mic is less important, this heavy-duty version of the 4061 microphone features stainless steel housing and a thick 2.2mm cable with a reinforced, heavy-duty cable relief. With its double-vent protection system, the 4661 is certified IP58 for dust and moisture resistance and built to survive the constant twists, bends, and pulls that are part of everyday use in harsh environments.

Lower Sensitivity for Loud Vocals, Speech, and Instruments

The 4661 CORE+ features a low-sensitivity capsule designed for high-volume speech and vocal applications at levels up to 134 dB SPL RMS and 137 dB peak before producing < 1% distortion. Even at peak SPLs of 144 dB, the mic exhibits only 10% distortion, allowing it to handle a wide variety of speech, vocal, and instrument sources.

More Range, Less Distortion

Microphones with CORE+ provide even more clarity across the entire dynamic range, from low to high sound pressure levels. Miniature microphones with CORE+ provide unheard levels of openness. While CORE allows mics to handle higher SPLs without significant artifacts up to 1% THD, CORE+ eliminates those artifacts completely.

Miniature Mic with a Crisp, Clear Sound

The diminutive 5.4mm capsule enables the microphone to be inconspicuous and easily disguised in clothing or costumes. The vertical diaphragm design offers a clear and natural sound optimized for the human voice.

Two Boost Grids Included to Tailor High Frequencies

The pre-fitted Soft-Boost Grid gives a 3 dB soft boost at 8 to 20 kHz range. It should be used when the microphone is mounted on the performer's head as well as in most other applications where you need a natural-sounding mic. Alternatively, the High-Boost Grid introduces a 10 dB boost around 12 kHz for applications where chest placement is preferred. Both grids are made of tough and scratch-resistant anodized stainless steel, allowing them to be detached and cleaned.

Omnidirectional Polar Pattern

The forgiving omnidirectional pickup pattern captures sound from all around the mic and provides a consistent frequency response, even for off-axis sound. This helps to supply clear, intelligible speech and vocals, even when the talent turns away from the microphone.

Additional Options

This version of the DPA 4661 CORE+ does not include mounts, windscreens, or clips; they are available separately.

The SCM0020 2-Way Clip is an improved clip for the 4660 Series Heavy-Duty miniature mic that is extremely easy to mount and intuitive to use. It provides quick and easy chest mounting with two orientation options.
To hide the mic, the DMM0022 Concealer attaches safely and securely to clothing and costumes and is designed to resist clothing and rustling noise. It features a modular design that allows the top of the concealer to be separated from the base. This lets you to affix the base to clothing and remove the top piece independently.
Foam windscreens to reduce breath and plosive noises are available in multiple color choices to match clothing.
