Description
Achieve immersive and ultrarealistic sound capture for your online content, film and video productions, and podcasts with the black DPA 4560 CORE+ Binaural Headset Microphone. This moisture-resistant headset mic features two handpicked 4060 miniature omnidirectional microphones attached to two ear hooks for pristine audio quality, low noise, and discreet placement. Both lightweight and flexible, the headset adjusts to any ear size and head shape.
With an SPL rating of 128 dB RMS, the microphone is more than capable of handling anything from dialogue to ambient sounds. The mic can also be used very effectively to capture instruments, making it a flexible tool for cutting-edge music productions. A pair of soft-boost grids and a pair of high-boost grids are included, allowing you to alter the high-frequency response of the mics to suit your application and preference. The 4560 CORE+ is powered by 5 to 10V plug-in power from wireless transmitters and features a modular design using two color-coded MicroLock output connectors. The mic is compatible with various wireless microphone transmitters via separately available adapters.

The 4560 is an appealing solution for applications such as sound system documentation, soundscape analysis, sound quality assessment as well as sound for theatrical productions, gaming, and more.

Binaural Recording
The binaural recording technique builds on the principle of placing microphones on a human's head. The microphones' position is either just outside each ear canal or at the bottom of the ear canal close to the eardrum. When you reproduce the recording and listen with headphones, the image is very much similar to "being there."
Binaural recordings differ from more well-known stereo techniques because binaural uses two omnidirectional mics positioned close together (as if in a listener's ears) to replicate the sound pickup of the human ear. Stereo on the other hand, use cardioid microphones with a larger space between them.
Handpicked Stereo Pair
The 4560 is made from a handpicked stereo pair of 4060 miniature omnidirectional microphones. With the use of the head and ears as natural spacers/shadows and reflectors, it is possible to create a sonic 3D print of the sound around you. This is based on the theory of the HRTF, which also means that the recorded material must be listened to via headphones or converted to a relevant 3D format that includes the height information.
Omnidirectional Polar Pattern
The 4060 CORE miniature omnidirectional microphones in this headset exhibit an exceptionally accurate omnidirectional pattern and therefore do not need to be aimed directly at the sound source to achieve quality pickup. This pattern also makes it less sensitive to handling noise as well as pop and wind noise. These 4060s handle sound pressure levels up to 134 dB before clipping occurs. This mic is well suited for applications where the sound source is more remote or damped and you need to have a good balance of signal versus noise.
Adjustable Headset
The two 4060 mics are mounted on a flexible, unobtrusive headset, which is ergonomically designed to fit comfortably. The headset adjusts easily to fit any ear size as well as head shape.
Moisture Resistance
IP58 certified, this headset microphone is resistant to high levels of humidity and water. For optimal performance, the microphone capsule should be kept dry.
More Range, Less Distortion
Microphones with CORE+ provide even more clarity across the entire dynamic range, from low to high sound pressure levels. Miniature microphones with CORE+ provide unheard levels of openness. While CORE allows mics to handle higher SPLs without significant artifacts up to 1% THD, CORE+ eliminates those artifacts completely.
MicroLock for Secure, Dependable Connections
Built to withstand the rigors of long-term everyday use, DPA's MicroLock system features an easy-to-use, secure, and wear-resistant locking connector specially engineered to minimize accidental disconnection and ensure reliable performance. The compact design is well suited to situations where space is limited and a visually discreet solution is preferred.
Adapters Available for Various Wireless Transmitters
The 4560 will work with a wide variety of wireless transmitters via separately available adapters. Simply choose the MicroLock adapter with the appropriate connector for your bodypack transmitter and you're good to go.
Backward Compatible
MicroLock is fully backwards compatible with the MicroDot connection; MicroLock parts can be assembled with MicroDot parts and function as if they were of the MicroDot type. Please note that the locking function is only available if both the male and female parts are MicroLock.
