The DPA 4080 CORE+ is a miniature cardioid lavalier microphone designed for use with wireless systems for live events, journalism, and broadcast applications. The electret-condenser capsule delivers crisp, clear, and intelligible speech, while the rugged yet unobtrusive design is well suited to the demands of professional live stage work and presentations.

While small and visually unobtrusive, the 4080 uses DPA's CORE+ technology to deliver increased dynamic range, less distortion, and low self-noise for outstanding speech reproduction. Engineered for chest placement, the mic is pre-EQ'd with a 4 dB presence boost in the 4 to 6 kHz range to ensure clarity.

The cardioid polar pattern focuses audio capture on the talent, picking up less audio from the sides and helping to reduce unwanted background sounds. This pattern works best for forward-facing talent speaking in the direction of the mic, including broadcast personalities and presenters; it also helps to reduce feedback issues when monitors and PA systems are employed for sound reinforcement. The microphone is powered by 5 to 10V plug-in power from a wireless transmitter.
