Just like carbon forms the basis of life, music producers have found that the aptly named Carbon8 digital synthesizer makes a perfect base for their synth rigs and music production workstations. Modal Electronics packed a ton of features into this 37-key experimental instrument. First, its 8-voice polyphony will have you in disbelief that so much sound could come from such a compact synth. Secondly, more than 40 refined digital algorithms, 33 filter types (including a new vocal filter), and shapeable LFO waveforms mean that you’ll never want for new sounds to craft and explore. The Carbon8’s robust Sequencer and Arpeggiator sections make it effortless to create intricate chord progressions and lead parts. Finally, like all Modal Electronics instruments, the Carbon 8 is highly customizable via the free MODALapp.

Easy integration with the MODALapp

The Carbon8 can make itself right at home in any synth rig thanks to the incredible MODALapp. This multi-platform application handles various duties exceptionally well, such as preset editing and management, DAW integration, and adjusting your Carbon8’s system settings. Use the MODALapp to customize MIDI channel settings, aftertouch and velocity response, MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE), and more to make your Carbon8 truly yours.
