The Midas CAT5E-100M is a rugged Cat5e UTP network cable that provides bi-directional digital audio network data connectivity and features Neutrik etherCON NE8MC-1 connector carriers with integrated O-ring sealing to achieve IP54 certification for high reliability, especially desirable in concert touring and festival applications.

When used with Midas PRO, M-Series and Klark Teknik products equipped with HyperMAC and Kupfersnake interfaces, the CAT5E-100M cable can transmit up to 192 bi-directional channels of 24-bit digital audio at 96 kHz sampling rate. The CAT5E-100M also supports 24 bi-directional channels and 48 bi-directional channels at 96 kHz respectively 48 kHz sampling rate for AES50 connections. In addition, the cable can also be used for standard Ethernet applications and is suitable for both 100 Mbps and Gigabit networks.

The Midas CAT5E-100M cable consists of a high-strength, unshielded Belden 1305A cable with a nominal diameter of 7.6 mm. The 1305A cable features 24 AWG bonded-pair stranded (7/32) copper conductors with polyolefin insulation and both inner and outer PVC protective jackets.

The CAT5E-100M cable is supplied on a drum with a robust steel frame and integral carrying handle for ease of transport, use and rewinding.
