The Dixon PA-AM-SP 9.5mm Percussion Post Basic Clamp is a great way to get a cowbell or wood block around your drum. Clamp connects to any vertical post (such as cymbal stand) while the 3/8" rod allows a cowbell, woodblock etc to be mounted to the kit.
