Description
The raw bell makes this ride have a more dark and closed sound. And, except the bell, the side gets thinner to the edge. Which makes great sustain.

Sound of reminiscences, sound from the 40's and 60's.

Considered one of the most amazing and influential drummers of his era, John Blackwell joined Turkish Cymbals to bring his expertise, before he passed away. He worked with Turkish cymbal smiths to find the perfect sound he was looking for. He will always be remembered…

Blackwell had an incredible background, playing with some of the most important artists in different genres, that includes R&B, Pop, Rock, Funk, Jazz and Country. Cameo, Patti LaBelle, Prince, Justin Timberlake, P. Diddy, Lauryn Hill, Maze Ft. Frankie Beverly, D'Angelo, Bootsy Collins, among others, are the list of artists that John played with through his drumming career.

Also, his tours and collaborations included Asian artists, like Utada Hikaru, Double, Crystal Kay, and Chinese Rock Mega Star Xu Wei.

Graduated from Berklee College of Music, class 95', John Blackwell was honored to be part of the Associate Professors roster in that prestigious school. His passion for teaching, and his devotion of passing his knowledge to the new generation of drummers, made him a good example of courage, and dedication that anyone would admire.
