Styled in a black satin finish, the STEF-T7B Stephen Carpenter Signature Series seven-string baritone electric guitar from ESP features an alder body and a classic single-cutaway design with neck-thru-body construction. Its three-piece maple neck has a 27" scale ebony fingerboard and 24 extra-jumbo frets. For added natural sustain, the strings are attached through the back of the body and intonated with a TonePros locking tune-o-matic bridge, then secured at the headstock by a set of Sperzel locking tuners.

For electronics, this guitar is outfitted with a pair of Fishman Fluence SRC active humbucking pickups that provide tones varying from tweaked midrange to extra heat and edge. A three-way pickup selector switch, and master volume and tone knobs offer control over the electronics' various timbres.
