Breedlove’s special edition Legacy Concert LTD represents a stunning showcase of Breedlove’s treasure-grade tonewoods and their always-tasteful 6-string artistry — and it’s limited to only 10 models total! This guitar’s figured red cedar top instantly makes a visual mark with complex and intricate figuring, impressing even further with a dynamic and broken-in voice that’s ideally suited to fingerstyle applications. The top is supported by a back and sides of figured bubinga, which captures the sonic depth and complexity of rosewood with a stunning, lively, and visually distinct look. On the opposite end, the Legacy Concert LTD’s comfortable Slim C Honduran mahogany neck wields handmade spalted maple “Links” inlays that are perfectly set off with bold brass trim. And while the Breedlove Legacy Concert LTD would be sure to garner many a glance hanging up in your home studio, this masterwork is more than ready to gig out thanks to its LR Baggs Anthem TRU-MIC electronics. A set of Gotoh 510 tuning machines, a spoked spalted maple rosette, and a brass logo headstock inlay finish the Legacy Concert LTD with breathtaking aesthetic elegance and top-level performance.
Top-notch tonewoods
In traditional Breedlove fashion, the Legacy Concert LTD leverages tonewoods that were responsibly and sustainably sourced by Breedlove's team of wood experts. This guitar features solid figured bubinga back and sides with a Western red cedar top. By combining bubinga’s rosewood-like depth and sparkling top end with the warmth and sweetness of cedar, this guitar creates a nicely balanced tone with a remarkably touch-sensitive resonance. Made from sustainably sourced, non-clear-cut tonewoods, the Legacy Concert LTD is a guitar that sounds just as good as it looks. And when you hit the stage, the Legacy Concert LTD’s LR Baggs electronics deliver a plugged-in tone that will leave your audience speechless.
Forward-thinking Sound Optimization Process
Every Made in Bend Breedlove guitar benefits from the company’s proprietary Sound Optimization process. Sound Optimization is a data-driven process that accounts for the inherent variability in natural tonewoods and ensures every guitar performs to its full potential. So how does it work? First, Breedlove sands each tonewood to a desired weight (most guitar companies sand to a uniform thickness). Once the braces are glued in, the company’s luthiers use soft mallets, microphones, and specialized software to analyze the top and back frequency response. They then voice the braces by hand and constantly remeasure the frequency response to ensure the top and back resonate to predetermined target frequencies.
Breedlove’s groundbreaking combination of data-backed technology with the art of lutherie ensures that their instruments sound unlike any other. The guitar comes alive the second you pluck your first note. Each Sound Optimized guitar offers a huge dynamic range with striking note separation and clarity. Plus, the sustain is out of this world. Breedlove believes in their Sound Optimization technology so much that no instrument leaves their Oregon workshop until it performs to its full potential — even if that means carving on the bracing through the soundhole. With a Sound Optimized Breedlove guitar, you’ll experience a level of performance and sonic consistency that you can’t find anywhere else. Not sold yet? You will be once you play one.
Sustainably sourced, traceable tonewoods
If you talk to anyone at Breedlove, they’ll probably say they love the outdoors. And as a global guitar brand, the company has taken huge strides to reduce its environmental impact and protect the natural world with the Tonewood Certification Program. Breedlove works closely with local authorities and mill workers to harvest and document each tonewood they use. The Tonewood Certification Program’s documentation is so thorough that they can tell you exactly where the wood on your guitar grew and how it ended up at Breedlove.
Breedlove: guitars you can feel good about
From the company’s beginning in 1990, Breedlove has focused a lot of their efforts on reducing their impact on the planet without compromising the quality of their instruments. Their radical approach to sustainability led them to create their Tonewood Certification Program and commit to visit each location where their timber is harvested to ensure that their sustainability standards are met. The company has introduced player-centered innovations, including custom voicings and unique neck profiles. From the Discovery to the Legacy, each and every Breedlove is made with an uncompromising dedication to quality sound, flawless workmanship, and environmental sustainability. Buying a Breedlove is much more than purchasing a top-notch acoustic guitar — it’s buying a guitar that you can feel good about.
